JessicaJessica Ann Simpson Johnson was born on 10 July 1980. [1] She is an American actor, singer and an philanthropist. After singing in the church choir as a child, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997, aged seventeen. The album she released as her debut album, Sweet Kisses (1999), sold two million copies in the United States and saw the commercial popularity of the single "I Want to Love You Forever". Simpson changed her image to be more mature on her sophomore album Irresistible (2001). The album's title track was her second chart-topping hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) had certified the album as gold. In This Skin (2003) the third studio album by Simpson was a huge success, selling three million copies across the United States. In the beginning of her career, Simpson became known for her relationship with and subsequent wedding to Nick Lachey, with whom she also appeared on MTV reality TV show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 and 2005. Following the release of her first Christmas album ReJoyce: The Christmas Album (2004), which was certified gold, Simpson made her film debut as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). The film's soundtrack also featured her, and she also composed the cover version of "These Boots are Made to Walk" In 2006 she released her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. Simpson made her debut in country music through the release of Do You Know (2008), her sixth studio album. Simpson has also launched The Jessica Simpson Collection, an apparel-focused line that includes 34 categories of merchandise. The company is the most profitable famous licensing company ever with more than $1 billion in revenues to the date. Simpson also appeared on the reality show The Price of Beauty in 2010. She also judged the fashions for two seasons of Fashion Star between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married Eric Johnson and has three children.
